Atheist :How can you consider yourself rational when you exclude any possibility of a creator ?

An important issue like the existence of a creator with so many arguments over it should give anyone with rational thinking some doubt that he could be wrong and the other side is right yet you consider yourself always as being logical and rational . What is so rational about it ?

A creator simply isn’t necessary. There are better, more “rational” explanations for the universe and everything in it.

I don’t exclude anything. Creators, fairies, unicorns, bring them on.
But I will continue to live as if they don’t exist as long as there’s no supporting evidence for any of them. The alternative is irrational.

Do you have any proof? No, I didn’t think so. When you come up with the proof, physical scientific proof, not some book that you believe in, then I’ll believe in god. Until then, I will continue to believe that god doesn’t exist.

Being rational is weighing the evidence and making a reasonable conclusion. The evidence, or absolute lack thereof, clearly speaks against the existence of any divine being. Produce evidence to the contrary if you have it.
Blindly accepting a conclusion based on fairy tales is not only irrational, it is delusional, a mental condition.
You fall into the latter addled group.

I haven’t excluded the possibility; but seeing how this possibility has no evidence to support it, I can’t lend it credence, and thus lack belief in it.
It is not irrational to disbelieve in that which has yet to be proven.

i do think i could be wrong. i don’t think i think there is a God, but there might be, so i live my life how i think this God would want me to. maybe i do believe in some kind of God? i don’t know. its confusing. how would anything get here without something creating it. that kind of messes up both ideas, but then whats left?
did i even make sense?

The forces of creation is existant, but their is no evidence for a single creator like that depicted by religions.
You think a Being makes things happen, I believe things do happen for reasons, but not beacuse a 1 being wants them to happen.
Their is no proof for 1 single being making things happen.

what gives you the impression that I didn’t think about my beliefs?
I was raised Catholic… I gave a lot of thought to it.
This will be confusing:
I believe that God doesn’t exist… I don’t have to worry about being right or wrong on the issue, because I believe as strongly as someone who believes in God that there isn’t a God… So if I don’t believe in a god or a heaven or a hell, why do I have to concern myself with what this afterlife hype that everyone keeps debating? It doesn’t apply to me…
I hope that made sense…

You can’t rationally explain God or prove his existence. God is to be accepted by faith. You practice faith everyday. When you sit in a chair,do you take it out to a lab and have it tested to prove that it will hold your weight? No, you accept that it will hold you and sit in it. When you drive and see someone coming against you, do you know that they won’t hit you head-on? No, by faith you accept (and hope they won’t). Farmers (above anyone) have a lot of faith that the seasons will come and by that their harvest will come. Why can’t we take this ounce or two of faith and apply it to more complicated things such as whether their is a God or not? Everything can’t be explained by science. Yea, science is a great tool but there are things that happen that defy scientific explanation.
I see that someone said that if there no God “I don’t have to worry about being right or wrong”. Soooo, why not just rob banks for money and do whatever you want? Whats stopping you? The sky is the limit! If there is no God there is no real threat of eternal damnation for your actions???

It is just as rational to believe that Man created God as a concept to serve his purposes.
If God created Man, who created God?
Man was created through Evolution. You could say that the universe was created by a number of impersonal forces acting independently of each other.
God is simply a catch-all dustbin word to call all the things you do not know, cannot understand and cannot do.
It would be more rational to admit that than pretend you know this guy called God who knows and can do everything and is your personal best friend.
In fact, it is child-like, childish and the sooner humanity grows out of this the better.
