Do you believe in evolution?

1 – Where did the space for the universe come from?
2 – where did matter come from?
3 – Where did the laws of the universe come from? (Gravity, inertia, etc.)
4 – How did matter get so perfectly organized?
5 – Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?
6 – When, where, why and how did life come from dead matter?
7 – When, where, why and how did life learn to reproduce itself?
8 – With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?
9 – Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kind since this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival? (Does the individual have a drive to survive, or the species? How do you explain this?)
10 – How can mutations (recombining of the genetic code) create any new, improved varieties? (Recombining English letters will never produce Chinese books)
11 – Is is possible that similarities in design between different animals prove a common Creator instead of a common ancestor?
12 – Natural Selection only works with the genetic information available and tends only to keep the species stable. How would you explain the increasing complexity in the genetic code that must have occured if evolution were true?
13 – When, where, why and how did: a) single-celled plants become multi-celled (where are the two-and three-celled intermediates?), b) single-celled animals evolve?, c) fish change to amphibians?, d) amphibians change to reptiles?, e) reptiles change to birds? (
the lungs, bones, eyes, reproductive organs, heart, method of locomotion, body covering, etc are all very different!) How did the intermediate forms live?
14 – When, where, why, how and from what did: a) whales evole?, b) sea horses evolve, c) bats evolve?, d) eyes evolve?, e) ears evolve?, f) hair, skin, feathers, scales, nails, claws, etc evolve?
15 – Which evolved first (how and how long did it work without the others): a)digestive system, the food to be digested, the appetite, the ability to find and eat the food, the digestive juices, or the bodies resistance to its own digestive juices (stomach, intestines, etc)? b) the drive to reproduce or the ability to reproduce? c) the lungs, the mucus lining to protect them, the throat, or the perfect mixture of gases to be breathed into the lungs? d) DNA or RNA to carry the DNA message to cell parts? e) the termite or the flagella and its intestines that actually digest the cellulose? f) the plants or the insects that live on them pollonatte the plants? g) the bones, ligaments, tendons, blood supply or muscles to move the bone? h) the nervous system , repair system or hormone system? i) the immune system or the need for it?

By: Doctor Kent Hovind and he is offering $250,000 to anyone who can give any empirical evidence (scientific proof) for evolution.

Folks, seriously, Hovind’s tax issues are his burden and I pray that he gets his life back on track with God. The point of this question was to show people that there is no way to PROVE evolution. As much as God is a fairy tale to some, evolution is more so. Where are all of your intermediate links? Even Darwin himself admitted that this was a problem. And yes, I have read The Origin of Species and also, the Descent of Man. There is nothing proven in these books except that things change and adapt. That, friends, is not evolution.

Also, to the folks who though I was being smug or that I am ignorant – God Bless you.

  1. cal Says:

no, it requires too much faith

  2. Tom J Says:

YES…there are alot here that still haven’t evolved out of their monkey suits

  3. punch Says:

Where is the science section of Yahoo answers? (Hint, It’s not here!) Kent Hovind is no scientist, and how can we show Evidence for something that someone refuses to see as evidence?

Here’s some info on the evolution of whales. We don’t know everything, put you don’t need all the pieces of a puzzle to see what the picture is.

  4. Kenshin Himura Says:

Isn’t Hovind in prison for tax evasion?

Anyone else find it strange that to prove evolution i also have to prove a completely unrelated theory such as the big-bang?

P.s. How do open-ended questions (which most actually have answer for) disprove evolution, or prove god?

Does my inability to explain how gravity works, mean that the general theory of relativity is false?

  5. The Green Lady Says:

Wow, you’ve convinced me. Let’s all go back to believing it was made by a god……yawn.

  6. denny p Says:

We all know it, everything is created by Him with his magic, just like the internet, he pointed to a computer and shouted Let there be the internet!!
    *thunders

  7. erlampo Says:

You people are pathetic. Every government in the entire world, including the US government, recognizes and accepts evolution. It is scientific fact. You are living in a fantasy world.

  8. Anonymous #265 Says:

    1. I don’t “believe” in evolution, I have accepted it as a fact

    2. “Dr” Hovind is in jail for tax fraud. This speaks volume of his character

  9. Me and my house will serve God Says:

Do you believe in evolution? No.

  10. Anonymous Says:

Kent Hovind’s ‘offer’ is a farce; ultimately because the existence of a god can’t be DISPROVEN (in the same way my invisible magic alligator can’t be disproven), but also because he stretches the term ‘evolution’ to include everything from the big bang to hither and yonder.

The link below contains a critical analysis of the inherent dishonesty in Hovind’s claim. I recommend you read it before getting ****** in by Hovind’s lies.

His ‘doctorate’ is from a christian diploma mill, and it isn’t even in any sort of science. His scientific ‘proof’ against evolution has been refuted time and time again.

It saddens me that people are fooled by this because they have only a limited understanding of evolution, and even more so because the conditions of the challenge make it IMPOSSIBLE to answer.

  11. servant of God Almighty Says:

Amen! Doctor Kent Hovind is my FAVORITE! You go! Wooohooo!!!! Yah!

People will most likely bash him on here but…who cares….we know the truth..and our job is to spread it.

    God bless! :D

  13. Blackacre Says:

That’s the same Hovind who is currently in Federal jail, right?

The first stuff has nothing to do with Evolution. This is a straw man Hovind tried to set up.

Please refer to the many, many, many peer reviewed scientific articles on Evolution and then try again.

And of course, Hovind “edited” his offer because evidence is pretty clear about Evolution. He is trying to make an argument against what idiots call microevolution.

Servant (above): Hovind is your favorite? A fake “doctor” in jail for fraud, and he’s your favorite. Wow: that’s sad.

Natkra (below): it’s amazing how idiots cut and paste arguments and ask them in the wrong section because they really don’t want answers but simply want to promote a sky fairy. If anyone wanted an answer to this, they would post it in the science section. They would be laughed at, but it would be answered.

  14. monmichka Says:

Good Lord! Now if you expect anyone to answer all of those questions, you have more gall than I do. LOL. But, yes I do believe evolution is real, I do believe there are mutations that have made animals what they are today, I do believe in the laws of time and space and I believe that God orchestrated it all.

  15. novangelis Says:

This cut and paste has been answered more times than “Doctor” (the diploma was mail order) Kent Hovind has lied. Mind you, there’s a reason he’s in jail for fraud.

As you don’t even get to evolution until question 8, suffice it to say evolution requires no belief since it is an observable phenomenon.

  16. Silent Says:

There’s ample scientific evidence for evolution; creationists like Hovind just ignore it because it doesn’t agree with their beliefs. It’s called confirmation bias.

Are you aware that your first six questions have absolutely nothing to do with evolution? Are you aware that the idea of evolution in no way contradicts the idea that a god created the universe? It contradicts a literal reading of the Biblical creation stories, but it has nothing to do with the origins of life or of the universe.

  17. My Intelligence > Yours Says:

Tell Doctor Hovind that there is literally no such thing as scientific proof in regards to Evolution. It simply cannot be done. Say for instance (this is a classic example) that someone said that the inside of a watermelon was blue, but immediately turned red when it came in contact with air. There is abosolutely no way you could prove that the watermelon was not blue inside before being cut open. However, you could compile TONS of evidence to support the idea that the watermelon was in fact red all along. So much evidence perhaps that the idea becomes accepted by the community as the truth. The same is true for evolution. There is no way we can prove it to you, just like you can’t prove creationism or ID, but we can show you TONS and TONS of evidence to support our claims.

If you would like me to do that for you, I’d be happy to. But I suggest that Dr. Hovind look into science a bit more before he makes such a ridiculous claim.

I’m really getting fed up with the ignorant people on this site. If you want to call bullshit on me, I’ll direct you to a blog of mine that will answer all of your questions. The next person to say something like “that’s not an answer” will receive an email with some blogs. If that doesn’t shut you up, so be it.

  18. Always Curious Says:

i believe evolution is real. a perfect example would be the fact that antibiotics don’t work as well as they once did. since virus’s have a short life span we can see changes that happen much faster than we can in other things like human beings, animals, trees, etc.

i find it much more believable than the ridiculous notions in the bible. i mean the whole idea ’bout the earth being flat and that the sun revolves around the earth is enough proof to me that it’s written by mere mortals who had no direct line of communication with god.

aside from that, i’d love to see some real answers to these questions. and i wonder what religion if any dr. hovind has.

  19. Josh A Says:

i believe the evolution of matter and space and time did all this who is to say only living things like humans and animals evolve i believe the whole universe did i think its a lot more logical than a week and anything and everything was made no way oh yeah and i know about the 250,000 dollars to prove it it is a hoax its all over the internet mr hovind will not give that money out sorry though

  20. Reileah Says:

Yes, I think I will have another.

Fortunately, I bought another bottle of vodka today.

…Does it hurt to be as stupid as you are?

  21. tutboyz Says:

    a basic approach:
think, if you can PROVE anything, then it is true
believing without proof, means that a person is not capable of …..

  22. The girl antichrist Says:

Hey, isn’t that the amount of money he owes to the government?

I have a better question, if god created the universe, then where did god come from?

  23. Wolfechu II Says:

1* – It was created along with the other initial conditions in the big bang.
2* – See above, and read up on cosmic inflation theory.
3* – See 1 and 2. All this has a perfectly sound theory behind it.
    4* – See 1, 2, 3.
5* – See above. Or the link below.
6* – There are several theories on abiogenesis.
    7* – See 6.
8 – Assumes a sudden appearance of that form of reproduction, rather than a gradient.
9 – No animal wants to reproduce itself. Most aren’t even aware of the concept. The genes are what want to reproduce themselves, and they too aren’t aware of the process, or even their own existence.
10 – But recombining chinese letters will produce new words, given their pictographic origins. Try to stay in the same frame of reference.
11 – I would say the opposite. A similarity in design shows a lack of creativity, were they to be designed by anyone. Where’s the artistic flair?
12 – Natural selection does no such thing, as you’d know if you read up on it, and indeed on Gregor Mendel’s work on genetics.
13 – Again, are you wanting a specific date here? Evolution is a gradual process, not a sudden one. When does a painting stop being a blank canvas and become a painting?
    14 – See 13.
    15 See 14.

These would be much more interesting if they hadn’t been debunked years ago. I notice Hovind hasn’t paid up, but then I suppose he gets to decide what’s ‘proof’. Incidentally, the answers with asterisks are to questions which have nothing to do with evolution or natural selection.

  24. Meg M Says:

I accept evolution as scientific fact. Hovind is not a scientist and wouldn’t understand the scientific proof for evolution even if it were right in front of him (which it is).

  25. vernenufeld Says:

“Doctor” Kent Hovind “earned” his “doctorate” at a diploma mill, certainly not at an accredited university which is shown by his complete and utter ignorance of how evolution works. And there’s been plenty of empirical evidence presented.

First 8 questions have nothing to do with evolution.

  26. Bewildered1 Says:

You are lumping several different scientific theories into one and calling it Evolution. Please look up what the theory of evolution actually states before you ask for “answers” to your pseudo-intellectual tirade. And even if you believe that God created the universe and everything in it, you still haven’t argued which God did it. There are many other religions out there that are just as believable (or unbelievable) as yours.

Your intellectually confused statements are proof that ignorance is bliss.

  27. RickK Says:

1 – What are those flashes in the sky when it rains, and what is that loud noise?
2 – Why does the ocean water rise and fall during the day?
3 – Why are there fewer birds in the winter?
4 – Why do children look like their parents?
5 – What are the lights in the night sky?
6 – Why are there shapes on the moon?
7 – Why is the sun warm?

I could go on and on. None of those questions could be accurately answered 500 years ago. Now, ALL of them and many more can be answered – all because of science, not God.

The only difference between you and flat-Earth believers is that you’re quoting a man who is in jail for tax evasion.
