How to tell which computer programs a made Ebook would work on?


I want to make my own Ebook, but where can I buy the Cd’s to put it on and how can I tell which programs it will work on? (Windows XP, Vista, 97, 2000, Professional, etc.)

    don’t forget mac and linux. Windows OS is only around 90% of desktops now. And most eBook readers run on Linux. I’m serious. I mean honestly; do you think they would but windows on there? They just modify Linux a bit and use that in most situations. Linux dominates almost everything now…except desktops ._.

    It is probably a good idea to put it in a format that is REALLY compatable at the present time, like say PDF. But to be honest, I would do some of my own research as to how eBooks are sold now…
