Is it possible to convert Barnes and Noble eBooks into Kindle format?

I have a second generation Kindle. Can I buy Barnes and Noble eBooks and convert them, or do they absolutely have to be Amazon?

I own the Kindle 2 too. Unfortunately we are unable to read Barnes and Noble ebooks. Actually, all ebook readers protect themselves so their ebooks can only be read on specific ebook reader (just like Kindle books can only be read on the Kindle device).

Of course, there are quite a lot of websites selling ebooks in PDF format and we can read them on the Kindle.

You can’t convert BN ebooks to any format unless you ***** the DRM, and distributing programs to ***** DRM is illegal. (Which doesn’t mean they don’t exist, but it means they’re not freely shared; you have to search for them.)

After removing the DRM, you’ll need to convert the file into PRC (Mobi) format for the Kindle; there are several free programs that do ebook file conversion. Mobipocket.com has a good one for that, but you’d need to start with a non-DRM’d eReader file.
