What are some sites i cn go to to read some humorous stories or to download new-ish ebooks?

Most authors can’t afford to let people read their books for free. However Cory Doctorow will. Little Brother is a fantastic book.
While not a book, you can see clips of the Daily Show and Colbert Report online.

has plenty of free ebooks, and a lot of the paid ones have samples so you can read part of the book to decide if you like it enough to buy it.
reviews DRM-free ebooks (that means they don’t have special software that ties them to your computer), and a lot of them are free.
