What would God think?

Lets say there was a creator that designed and created the universe (I.E. God)

Would he want us to worship and acknowledge him and pledge our lives to him?

What do you think the creator would think of all these different holy books that contradict each other and contradict themselves and all claim to be the word of God?

This is an open question for everyone.

Have you ever actually read any of them? None of them contradict themselves… not if you respect the dogma enough to interpret it in the proper perspective. I welcome you to prove me wrong… but I know full well you wont ever even ***** a Bible open. But go ahead and criticize it anyway.

And few of them contradict one another, either. Since you probably never read the Bible, I can assert with a fair amount of confidence that you never read the Quran either. And if you are religious enough to read the Bible, I KNOW you didnt read the Quran.

So where are you getting your information? ?

I think the books dont matter. I think the path is what matters. Being unbiased enough to seek objective moral and spiritual truths.

I think an interfering God has already done his part. And I think a non-interfering God doesnt give a rats asss.

The God I envision, gets a big belly laugh out of such books, except when they are used as a basis for evil and destruction.

I suspect that when he reads such books, it’s sort of like us hearing incredibly wrong gossip about ourselves.

And yes, I’ve read some of them, but I often stop because they do contain internal contradictions, which, of course, devotees can interpret or spin away, at least to their own satisfaction., but not to the satisfaction of disinterested observers.

Among my favorite authors, for example Melville and Twain, it’s clear they did care enough to read the bible and reached the conclusion that the god of the bible was a “bullying” god, one who gave man a desire to be “saved” and then predestined most of them to hell. Melville clearly knew the bible quite well, and Twain was no stranger to it,

What God is doing is giving you the path to happiness. That’s what all those good books are for. If you prefer to be miserable, then go your wicked way. Theres a saying in one of those holy books. “Wickedness never was happiness.” I hope you can sort it out.

I think if such a being exists his thoughts would be so vast and comprehensible for us that we could never even hope to understand him/ her.

And you Catigo, mister wise guy, what the hell is your problem? It’s just a question, why so aggressive? Do we have to read a hole bunch of religious books to ask a damn question?

What you have just asked is a very deep question that could take years of research to answer. But I will do my best to answer it in a few paragraphs.

The reason the Lord created man is that he wanted people to love him. If he made a man who always loved him and hardly thought (making us robots). So he made a man who would love him truly. Of course, with a mind of our own, we would get a big head and start to think that we were our own leaders but there are still some of us who still have faith.

God still cares for us every day and smiles on us who worship him. I hope I helped clear some things up.

Like Ms Nerdy says, I think he or she would get a good laugh out of them, but probably not as big a laugh as when he saw your avatar. Love that nose.

I don’t believe in a God, but for the sake of your question, if I was a god I would be looking in on my creations each day as my alternative to the soap opera/entertainment. Now and again I would want to sack the scriptwriters, would appreciate more humour and less dire stories. I would also want to stop disasters, natural or not and would never send a boy to do a man’s work. So, sending my little gods to sort out the human race would be a no no.

It’s not so much contradictions as personal interpretations of old writings. Moulded by groups to service their own political agendas.

i believe there is only one god and his name is GOD i just think different religions just interpret him differently

  10. magpiesmn Says:

God would think that thinking you think you know what someone thinks is impossible to be true unless that someone thinking is you.

I know that God exists. It’s not just a matter of believing.

This is what I think based upon what I have learned from God:

God does not want to control us. That is why we were given free will.
This is so we can choose, elect and decide, in each moment of our lives, who and what we will be. Free will is NOT a test to see if you will bow down and knuckle under. The idea of a whiny, demanding, controlling God is in direct contradiction of the true purpose and intention of free will. If God wanted robots, he would have created them, to do exactly as they are told.

You see, we cannot freely choose, if we are threatened with punishment and violence to the spirit. God is not violent. Punishmnet is violence. Damnation is violence. Being judged, is a form of violence.

And, because, we humans have war, hate, judgement, violence, here – we expect God to be the same way. Ancient people viewed the world differently from the way we today view it. Back then, the world was a great deal bigger and far less controlled by man. So it looked to man and the recorders of the Bible, as if the world were in control of us. Now, several thousand years later, we find ourselves, being in control of the world. Our actions on this planet are affecting our planet in ways that may doom us if we do not change our ways.

Religion has failed all people in one respect alone. Religion has failed to convey the truth about God and God’s real nature – a nature of absolute LOVE, which is the prime personality attribute of God. Religion has warped and distorted God so that evil and controlling men can have power over others. I **** to say it, but religion is full of evil men who want to control everyone and everything. I see them as evil and perverse, because they have no interest in learning God’s true nature and then conveying those facts to the world. When religious leaders are concerned about accumulating, power, wealth, influence and direct control of people’s lives and thoughts, that is not an act in the name of God, that is in the name of self-serving interest. That is in the name of perpetuating self-aggrandizement. It is just like being a ****** – it is an act of violence, but against the mind and the spirit of human beings, to deprive them of their rightful knowing of the truth for the purpose of accumulating, power, wealth and domination. This is why religion has FAILED, utterly! It is a failure.

Now, I am speaking of religion in general. Specifically, I cannot condemn all religious leaders or religions in specific…but I do condemn the greedy and lustful ones who ******* God by teaching about hell, damnation, condemnation and judgment. These are outright lies about the true character and nature of a LOVING GOD.

In John, you have heard it is written, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son..,” – here they speak of love and sacrifice, from a God who is LOVE – but on the other hand, they do not teach as they speak…for such sayings, however beautiful, are only used as a side-thought. What a person DOES speaks of what they truly are about…they speak of love, and then, all along, it turns out to be nothing but power and control, the lust for wealth and worldly gain.
They build huge churches and even schools and universities, as IDOLS to their own image.

No, God is not interested in being in control of us. God does not force God’s will down our throats. God has no needs because God has all of it and is all of it. When you already have everything, what is it that you have a need for?

God is more interested in all of us discovering who it is, we truly and really are. And doing that, freely and without fear of threat or reprisal.
God is more interested to see, if we learn LOVE as a practice rather than subscribe to the evil of fear. If there are any idols in the world, they are not images made of clay, they are images made of power and controllers who say they build the edifices in the name of God, but instead, build it in their OWN names. They, of all people are the idol worshipers. God told the ancient Israelites, God does NOT need a temple. Thus God does not need churches or any other edifice. God is visible everywhere, and invisible to what you think…God cannot be contained in tiny little edifices on a planet amongst trillions of stars and galaxies.

The controllers say, they need to build such edifices for communal worship, that they are needed to build brotherhood and bring people together. I think, they build them to practice exclusionism, to shout to the world, “Hey, look at us, we are the only ones who are RIGHT!”

If they had any interest in God, they would tear down all their edifices, give all their money to the poor and the destitute as Jesus would have done, and walked the roads as Jesus did. Jesus never asked a single man to build an edifice. But men go and do what they want to do anyway.

So that is what I think. Don’t bow d
