My friend showed me a lot of blogs & sites where best selling ebooks are sold dirt cheap & as far as I know these are illegal. Pls suggest websites where I could report these.

I’m not sure if there is an overall authority on the copyright of ebooks.
You would have to find out who the creator is of each ebook and report it to them individually.
Although, in my opinion, there is not really any moral obligation to do so.

I know, I **** Epiracy, too, but unless you are the copyright holder, you can’t report it to the site (they pretend they don’t know it’s going on) to have them take it down.
You CAN report this to the authors, with links and then THEY can take the books down.
If an individual person has these downloads on their website or blog, then you can report them to their server. Posting copyrighted material is in violation of their TOS. I had two sites on LiveJournal shut down because they were posting whole chapters of my books as blog entries!
You CAN send a link to the legal department of thepublishers and hope they might do something. Many turn a blind eye because it’s like playing “whack a mole.” Slam down one and two more bounce up.
I know this because I’ve been playing “whack a book” for months now. E-copies of my paperback novels were all over the place.
I have google alerts in place. Once a week they let me know if any of my books have been illegally downloaded. I report each individual page to the website and if they’re in a good mood, they take the page down.
Every “free” download is invisible to the publishers. They think your fav writer is not making sales. Then, when she has a new book to sell them, they turn her away, thinking her books are all losers for lack of sales.
Result: no more new books from those writers.
Even the most popular writers are being turned away because of this.
At least when you download and/or check books from a library, the librarians COUNT those, then they order more books from that writer. Result: you’ll see new titles from them!
Most writers do not make enough money to live on. Only a handful make the “big” money. The rest of us have to scramble for jobs, or hold a day job to live on. So e-piracy and those who support it are really HURTING us.

You could send the author an email that includes the site that has what you think is an illegal copy.
You can also send a message to and report that you think that it is an illegal copy.
