Why are computer viruses created, how does the creator benefit?
Posted by admin | Filed under Other - Computers
Besides trojans and things that spy on you for information, what is the point of other types of computer viruses? are they created by best buy and circuit city so that my computer will be trashed and i’m forced to buy a new one? How does the virus creator benefit by slowing, or all together stopping my computer?
Basically, i want to know, what’s in it for them? Why do they do it?

Loads of reasons but most mainly for fun.
Some get things like credit card info from you stored eg in cookies or others just are there to **** people off by formatting your hardware.
Others like ad aware will send a signal back home to say what you have been looking at and then it will force you with advertising based on that so you buy.
However others are there just to get recognition for their work and to get them selves know. Its just fun for some to write the programs that can ultimately bring whole organizations to their knees.
Also the newer viruses are coming that can track you keyboard movements through electrical signals that will ultimately track every key you press and will cause havok in the Pc world
However companies like Circuit city dont make viruses as there is enough going wrong without them needing to get involved how ever in out corrup society who knows what the guy in the back room is doing

If your computer is infected you dont need to buy a whole new computer. Next time reformat your computer and reinstall your operating system, or buy a new hard drive.

Why do vandals vandalise bus stops etc? Why do people drop litter – fully knowing what it does. The creator of a virus benefits in no way from it. There is, however, a sad satisfaction to be gained from blowing things up and that’s what a virus does to a computer. They seek nothing apart from to cause harm and distress. The virus creator gets no benefit apart from the pride at creating such a thing and distributing it.
It is in human nature to enjoy destruction – some enjoy it in different ways.

A large percentage of the people who create computer viruses do it for kicks and recognition. Then there the feeling of twisted satisfaction one gets from knowing you’ve created something that’s causing people grief.
There’s probably some virus writers who do it for revenge against corporations they don’t like. Interesting fact, the majority of the viruses out there target Microsoft operating systems. Wonder how many toes Bill Gates stepped on during his rise to the top?

Computer viruses are created by losers, who, like forum trolls, are impotent in society. They are the losers of the world and the only way they can reach a degree of satisfaction is to lash out at innocent people who cannot harm them because they are safely tucked away behind their keyboards. They are too cowardly to “man up” in the real world.
